Virginia Harden Brewer, a loving mother and grandmother, died on Monday, June 17, 2019, in her Greenwood home surrounded by her loving family after complications from liver cancer.
Ms. Brewer was the office manager for Dr. Kenneth L. Hines for more than 30 years. She was 69 years old.
Funeral services will be at 12 noon on Tuesday, June 18 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, where she was a member.
Ms. Brewer, who was born in Helena, Arkansas, had lived in Greenwood for more than 60 years. She graduated from Mississippi State University with a bachelor’s degree in business and was a founding member of the Kappa Delta Sorority. She was a member and past president of Altrusa International of Greenwood for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther James Harden and Joanne Muffoletto Harden, both of Greenwood.
Survivors include her three daughters, Joanne “Jody” Brewer Taylor (Charlie) of Overland Park, Kansas, Jennifer Brewer Maranto (Matt) of Greenville and Clair Brewer Jenkins (Daniel) of Greenwood; and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 11 am Tuesday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Father Jose de Jesus Sanchez will officiate at the services.
Pallbearers will be Charlie Taylor, Matt Maranto, Daniel Jenkins, Chip Ford, Phil Ellis and Matt Livingston. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Kenneth Hines, Dr. Henry Flautt and Dr. Syed Rafique.
Memorials may be made to Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church or the American Cancer Society.
