Services for Everette Wayne Overstreet were at 3 p.m. Sunday at Williams & Lord Funeral Home.

Mr. Overstreet, 68, died Friday, Sept. 13, 2019, at Greenwood Leflore Hospital.

He was born on April 17, 1951, in Kosciusko to Narvil and Pauline Lacy Overstreet, was raised in Berclair and graduated from Leflore County High School. Mr. Overstreet served as chief deputy of the Leflore County Sheriff’s Office for 25 years and served in the U.S. National Guard. He was a member of North Park Church of God of Prophecy.

He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sandra Real Overstreet of Minter City; four daughters, Sandi (Wayne) Wier of Schlater, Paula (Braxton) Harrell of Grenada, Laura (Andy) Gore of Carrollton and Mallory Overstreet of Minter City; a brother, Bob Overstreet of Greenwood; two sisters, Marilyn Viner of Grenada and Kay Alford of Black Hawk; and four grandchildren, Daniel Harrell, Jacob Harrell, Alaina Wier and Rhett Gore.

Visitation was from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The Rev. Tim Winters officiated the services. Pallbearers were Mike Alford, Chris Alford, Shane Viner, Jeff Overstreet, Jason Overstreet and Bruce Munn. Burial was in Sparta Cemetery near Holcomb.
