Services for Vernon D. Morris of Greenwood will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Providence Missionary Baptist Church.

Mr. Morris, 40, died Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2019, in Orange, Texas.

He worked in construction for S&B Engineering Co. and was a member of Samuel Chapel M.B. Church.

He is survived by his wife, Dr. Gloria Morris of Greenwood; three daughters, Tyanna Watkins of Itta Bena and Taniya Morrow and Madisyn Westerfield, both of Greenwood; a stepdaughter, Ndia Hill of Oxford; a stepson, Rhome Hill of Oxford; his mother, Linda J. Ratliff of Greenwood; his father, Willie J. Morris of Flora; his mother-in-law, Nellie Morgan of Greenwood; a sister, Marion Woods of Memphis; and a grandchild, Jameson Hearn of Oxford.

Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Friday at Sanders & Sanders Funeral Home and from 9:30 a.m. Saturday until the services at the church. There will be no viewing after the eulogy.

Pastor Eric Love will officiate at the services. Pallbearers will be Roy Pate Jr., Anthony Harper, William Herron, Leroy Hemphill Jr., James Garett and Shonathan Carter. 

Honorary pallbearers will be James Roby, Randy Woods, Oslar Woods, Keith Green, Don Roby, Spencer Baker and Conqueceon Givens.

Burial will be in Samuel Chapel M.B. Church Cemetery.
