Betty Hutcheson, 85, passed away Wednesday morning, April 24, 2019, at Greenwood Leflore Hospital. Funeral services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Baptist Church with interment in Odd Fellows Cemetery. The Rev. Mitchell Long and the Rev. Dustin Long will officiate. Visitation is from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday prior to the service.

Betty was born and raised in Charleston and had been a Greenwood resident for more than 50 years.  She had worked for Baldwin Piano & Organ Co. for a number of years before she opened Blue Lake Restaurant, which she operated for 17 years. A member of New Haven Baptist Church, she loved to cook and work in her garden.

Survivors include three daughters, Wilma Staples (Paul), Doris Long and Kaye French, all of Greenwood; a sister, Evelyn Slaughter of Southaven; and eight grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons, Trinity Long, Drew Long, Adam Staples, Tyler Staples, Jacob French, Michael French, Trevor Clunan and James Yeoman

Memorials may be made to Garden Park Adult Day Care Center, 2713 Hwy. 82 East, Greenwood, MS 38930.
