Mary Frances “Butch” Ellis, 76, passed away Thursday, Sept. 5, 2019, at her home in Greenwood surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Greenwood Delta Funeral Home with interment in Odd Fellows East Cemetery. The Rev. Lanny Haley will officiate. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
“Butch” was born in Eupora to William James and Jewel Frances Middleton, grew up in Grenada and had been a Greenwood resident for over 60 years. She was a member of Mt. Pisgah Church. “Butch” is preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Hazel Ann Middleton; and a stepson, Larry M. Ellis Jr.
She is survived by her husband, Larry M. Ellis of Greenwood; three daughters, Paula Mims of Greenwood, Terri Boggan of Madison and Nicki Lary (Michael) of Greenwood; a son, Mark Boggan (Kim), a stepson, Jimmy Boggan (Tina), and a step-daughter, Shan E. Henry, all of Greenwood; two sisters, Brenda Carver (Freddy) of Teoc and Jan Hoffman of Waterloo, Illinois; a brother, William James Middleton Jr. (Ann) of North Carolina; 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Taylor Williams, Graham Boggan, Steele Mims, Charles Ellis, Brian Rogers and John Storms.
