Drug bust

After pulling David Lamont Leahman over during a traffic stop Friday, Greenwood police officers collected approximately 1 pound of methamphetamines, 12 ounces of marijuana, a handgun and over $2,000 in cash.

A Greenwood man is out on bond after being arrested on several drug charges.

David Lamont Lehman, 46,  was pulled over Friday night during a traffic stop near Broad Street and Avenue I, according to a written statement from Police Chief Ray Moore.

Approaching the vehicle, officers smelled marijuana. After searching the vehicle, they found a pound of methamphetamines, 12 ounces of marijuana, a handgun, a digital scale, drug paraphernalia and over $2,000 in cash.

Lehman was charged with trafficking a controlled substance, possession of marijuana with intent enhanced by a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and misdemeanor charges of disregard of a traffic device, no proof of insurance, disorderly conduct, possession of paraphernalia and resisting arrest.

Bond was set at $52,650 for all charges, which had been posted for Lehman Sunday afternoon. He’s since been released.
