A fire on the 100 block of Ash Street Thursday night destroyed an unoccupied house and damaged two other houses. Fire Chief Marcus Banks said his department received a call about the fire around 11:30 p.m. It began at the unoccupied house. The other houses, to the left and right of the unoccupied one, received extensive heat and fire damage, though Banks said those homes will still be habitable following repairs. There were no injuries, and the cause of the fire is still being investigated.
