Browning Community Labor Day Festival

From left, Quincy Williams, Shaquette Jones, Rose Simmons and Buford Bernard “Heart Attack” Jones help prepare catfish plates at Monday’s Browning Community Labor Day Festival. The event, which is hosted by the Browning Progressive Civic League, had to scale back many of its activities for the 30th annual celebration due to the coronavirus. Following a community parade, the group held a fish fry in the parking lot of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church and gave plates of the food free to all who attended.
