Panel discussion on Till

The Emmett Till Interpretive Center in Sumner hosted a series of digital panel discussions Friday to commemorate the 65th anniversary of the racially motivated murder of the Black 14-year-old. The Rev. Wheeler Parker Jr., a cousin of Till’s who witnessed his abduction in Money, spoke via Zoom at one of the panels about the youth’s life, death and legacy. Till’s death is often credited with galvanizing the civil rights movement.
