Coach to host camp

Mississippi Valley State University head men’s basketball coach Lindsey Hunter, along with coaches Hal Perry and Will Vance, signed autographs Thursday evening at Hibbett Sports in Greenwood. Hunter, a two-time NBA champion with the Los Angeles Lakers and Detroit Pistons, will hold the inaugural Lindsey Hunter Basketball Camp Saturday. The camp will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the MVSU R.W. Harrison Complex on the Itta Bena campus. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. The camp is open to boys and girls who are in grades 6-9. The cost to attend is $40 per camper. The event will include coaching and an evaluation by MVSU staff, a lecture presented by Hunter, an NBA guest speaker, a USA basketball guest speaker, a demonstration by the MVSU basketball team, learning skills sessions and a camp report card. Participants will also receive T-shirts and awards. Lunch will be provided by Hunter. To register, learn more about the camp or sponsor a child to attend, call 601-573-9450.
