TV series now filming

Filming for the television series “Women of the Movement” started this week in Leflore County. On Wednesday night, the cast and crew were shooting at Sanders Grocery Store in Minter City. Johnny Sanders, owner of the store, said he was excited that they chose it as a filming location, calling it “the biggest thing to ever happen in Minter City.” “Women of the Movement” is an ABC TV series that will tell the story of Mamie Till-Mobley and her son, Emmett Till. Emmett Till’s murder in 1955 while he was visiting relatives in Money is credited with galvanizing the civil rights movement.
