A man shot Tuesday night at the Greenwood Gin has been released from Greenwood Leflore Hospital.
Police Chief Ray Moore wasn’t able to say whether the victim was released Tuesday night or on Wednesday. He also declined to name the victim but did say that the victim is a 26-year-old male resident of Greenwood.
Police were called at 5 p.m. Tuesday about the shooting, which happened outside Greenwood Gin, Moore said.
The gunshot victim was taken to the hospital that night.
The chief emphasized that the shooting was not a job-related issue pertaining to Greenwood Gin but rather a personal issue between the victim and the shooter. The victim was not an employee of the gin, Moore said.
The police do have a person of interest, though Moore declined to elaborate on the details of the suspect or the investigation, which is ongoing.
