At least two people were taken to Greenwood Leflore Hospital after a two-vehicle collision shortly before 5:30 p.m. Friday.

The accident happened at the intersection of Grand Boulevard and Monroe Avenue, Rena Davis, an eyewitness, said.

According to Davis, she was at a stoplight on West Monroe at Grand, facing east.

The vehicle ahead of her, a white SUV, began to cross Grand  toward East Monroe when a black SUV driving south on Grand Boulevard collided with the white SUV on the driver’s side, Davis said.

The collision caused the two vehicles to spin, sending the black SUV into a tree on the east side of Grand Boulevard.

The white SUV ended up on a lawn on the west side of Grand.
