Leflore County has had its 10th homicide of the year.
County coroner Debra Sanders pronounced Terrance Dodd, 38, dead at Amanda Drive in the Browning Community after she received a call from the Sheriff’s Department at 2:33 a.m. Wednesday.
Dodd, who had a Kosciusko address, died from multiple gunshot wounds, Sanders said. He had been in the Greenwood area for a few days visiting a friend.
Undersheriff Ken Spencer said that the Sheriff’s Department is actively working the case but could not immediately provide any details when reached Wednesday morning.
All but one of the county’s homicides this year have involved gun violence.
Since June 10, at least 10 shooting incidents have occurred in Greenwood and the area just beyond the city’s limits, according to authorities.
Two men — Jy’quavious Williams and Valdemir Beverly — died from two separate shootings last week.
Other shootings have left eight people injured.
