The Leflore County Sheriff’s Department has arrested a 17-year-old accused of participating in a drive-by shooting in the county last month.
The department charged Zyterius Dorsey, 2600 Luther Drive, with four counts of aggravated assault Thursday.
According to Undersheriff Ken Spencer, Dorsey is believed to have been in a vehicle from which shots were fired, hitting another occupied vehicle along Virden Drive July 21.
The person in the occupied vehicle was not hit by gunfire, Spencer said. He declined to say if the person was targeted or shot at randomly.
Spencer said the investigation is ongoing.
As of Friday afternoon, Dorsey was still behind bars.
