An Itta Bena resident suspected of shooting into an occupied dwelling last week remained in the Leflore County Jail on Monday.

The Sheriff’s Department has charged Edward Warren, 26, 9601 County Road 514, Itta Bena, with eight counts of aggravated assault and one count of shooting into an occupied dwelling on Thursday.

Sheriff Ricky Banks said Warren is accused of firing into a residence on Rainey Alley in Itta Bena around 10 p.m. Thursday in an attempt to shoot his brother.

The house was occupied by  seven more people. No one was hit, Banks said. Warren was arrested shortly after the shooting. The sheriff declined to discuss a possible motive for the crime.

Warren’s bond was expected to be set on Tuesday, Banks said.
