Mr. and Mrs. William David Howard of Sidon announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Josephine Katherine Howard, to Stephen Micah Harrell of Doddsville.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of the Rev. and Mrs. John Gayden Harrell of Brandon.
He is the grandson of Wayne Turnage Mixon of Doddsville and the late Dorothy Roberson Mixon and the late Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Marion Harrell.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Billy Wayne Bridwell of Greenwood and the late Noland Fontaine Howard Jr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Richard Cameron Shaw.
Miss Howard is a 2010 graduate of Pillow Academy. She attended Birmingham-Southern College, where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. She graduated in 2016 from Delta State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. She was a recipient of the Florence Nightingale Award. She is employed by South Sunflower County Hospital in Indianola.
Mr. Harrell is a 2004 graduate of Old Dominion Christian School. He graduated in 2009 from Delta State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in social justice and criminology. He is employed as a conservation officer with the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks.
The couple will exchange vows at 3 p.m. Aug. 17 at Roundaway Baptist Church in Doddsville.
Mr. Harrell’s father, the Rev. John Gayden Harrell, will officiate.
A reception will follow in the church’s fellowship hall.
