Monument of Grace Church will have its second women’s symposium and conference, titled “2020 Vision.” When: 10 a.m., with registration beginning at 8 a.m. Details: The theme is “Embrace Your Exodus.” Tickets are $15. The speakers will be Jacqueline Smith Wilson, author Lisa Walker Cook, minister Millene Jones and Charmayne Wilson-Mayowa, Mary Kay sales director. Prophetess Leigh Matthews will host. There will be a fashion show coordinated by Evangelist Annette Smith. Other guests will include Annie Caldwell and the Caldwell Sisters, The Dynamic Jewels, Dana Matthews and licensed massage therapist Terrance Bonner. Lunch will be served afterward.

Vincent United Methodist Church in North Carrollton will have Soup Saturday. When:  11 a.m. Details: A variety of soups will be available for free to the public, but donations are appreciated.

DeCell United Methodist Church’s “66 Books of the Bible” program has been canceled.

A Gospel Music Jubilee will be held. When/where: 6 p.m at Gore Springs Community Center. Details: Those featured will include Joyful Noise, The Pounders, The Castles and New Genesis. There will be a concession stand with hamburgers, hot dogs, sausage dogs and drinks.

Sunday, November 10

Jennings Temple Christian Methodist Episcopal Church will celebrate its 114th anniversary. When: 10:45 a.m. Details: The Rev. Dr. Wayne Williams, presiding elder of the Greenwood/Jackson District, will be the guest minister.

Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church will have a second-Sunday morning worship service. When: 11 a.m.

Holly Grove Missionary Baptist Church, east of Sidon, will have its annual Women’s Day. When: 11:30 a.m. Details: Earnestine P. Singleton, a member of Providence M.B. Church, will speak. The theme is “Women Putting on the Whole Armor of God”; the Scripture is Ephesians 6:10-18. The colors will be black attire with red corsages.

St. John’s Missionary Baptist Church will have its annual Women’s Day program. When: 1:30 p.m. Details: Evangelist Connie Beverley will speak. The colors will be black dresses with burnt orange corsages. Rehearsal will be at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Wednesday, November 13

Whole Armour of God Ministries will have a three-night revival. When/where: 7 p.m. Nov. 13-15 at 522 West Park Ave., Suite F. Details: Pastor Mary Johnson of Temple of Deliverance Church in Sidon will speak.

Saturday, November 16

St. Paul Cathedral will celebrate its anniversary.. When: 6:30 p.m. Details: The theme and theme verse are “Growing Stronger, Growing Deeper, and Reaching Higher” and Isaiah 40:31. The guest speaker will be Pastor Lavorsker Frison Sr. of The Freedom Church of Prattville, Alabama. Special guests will include Sisters In Christ Praise Dance Ministry of Greenwood, RAW House Of Deliverance Praise Team of Greenwood and New Living Way Praise Team of Greenville.

City of Refuge Ministries will present “The Sound,” featuring guest artist Chandler Moore. When: 6:30 p.m.

Sunday, November 17

Providence Missionary Baptist Church will have its annual Men’s Day. When: 10:45 a.m. Details: Jervis Magee, a member of the church, will speak.

Jones Chapel No. 1 Missionary Baptist Church will have Family and Friends Day. When: 11:30 a.m. Details: Jermaine McCaskill, a member of Bear Marsh Missionary Baptist Church of Carrollton and a school administrator with Shelby County Schools, will speak. The mass choir will rehearse at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Payne Chapel Missionary Baptist Church will have its annual homecoming. When: 11:30 a.m. Details: The church’s pastor, the Rev. Dr. James Clinton, will speak. The theme is “Remember the Days of Old.”

Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Black Hawk will have its annual Family and Friends Day. When: 2:30 p.m. Details: The Rev. Rodney Richards, pastor of Oak Grove, Walker Chapel, New Pilgrim Rest and Pleasant Grove churches in Indianola, will speak. Dinner will be served. The colors are black, red and silver. Ladies are asked to wear red suits or dresses with silver accessories. Men are asked to wear black suits with white shirts and red ties. The mass choir will rehearse at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

Vaiden Friendship Baptist Church will have an anniversary celebration. When: 3 p.m. Details: The Rev. Aaron Brown, pastor of Summerfield Baptist Church in Vaiden, will speak. Lunch will be served at 1 p.m. and again after the service.

McKinney Chapel Missionary Baptist Church will have its annual Women’s Day. When: 3 p.m. Details: Linda Stringer, a member of Providence M.B. Church in Greenwood, will speak. The mass choir will rehearse at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Helm Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in Carrollton will hold its annual Men’s Day Program. When: 3 p.m. Details: The Rev. Dr. James A. Lofton, pastor of Little Bethel C.M.E. Church of Terry, will deliver the message. The theme is “Getting Back to Basics in Building the Right Relationship with God.”  Music will be provided by the Carroll County Community Male Choir.

McKinney Chapel Missionary Baptist Church will have Women’s Day. When: 3 p.m. Details: Linda Stringer, a member of Providence M.B. Church, will speak. The choir will rehearse at 6 p.m. Nov. 12.

Bethel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church will have its annual fall festival. When: 6 p.m. Nov. 17 and 7 p.m. Nov. 18-20. Details: The speakers will be the Rev. Floyd Meeks Jr., the Rev. Robert Williams and Elder Kenneth McClung. The theme is “Revive Us Again!” The theme verse is Psalm 85:6.

Friendship Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate its 103rd anniversary. When: 10:45 a.m. Details: Dr. Curressia Brown, acting chair of Providence M.B. Church and acting chair of the business administration department at Mississippi Valley State University, will speak. The theme is “Celebrating 103 Years of Trusting the Word of God.”

First Baptist Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate its 106th anniversary. When: 11:30 a.m.

New Beginnings Church of Holiness will have an appreciation program for Evangelist Peggy Jones. When/where: 2 p.m. in the Jodie Wilson Library Auditorium. Details: Evangelist Wondrietta Crockett will speak.

Second Chance Outreach Ministries in Itta Bena will have a fourth-anniversary appreciation program for its pastor, the Rev. Dr. Jerry Crockett, and his wife, Gloria. When: 2 p.m. Details: Bishop Eddie Young of Hayward Chapel M.B. Church in Money will speak.

Providence Missionary Baptist Church will honor musicians Dr. Curressia Brown, James Redd and Jacquinice Moore. When: 3  p.m. Details: The special guests will be the choirs from East Percy Street Christian Church, Bear Marsh M.B. Church in Carrollton and Burning Bush M.B. Church in Grenada.
