Pillow Academy’s Jane Rob Pannell and Breck Bolin have been named the North AAAA, Division II players of the year.

Both seniors had outstanding seasons for their respective teams. Pannell helped guide the Lady Mustangs to a 29-5 record while averaging 12.2 points, 3.2 steals, 7.3 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game. She played some of her better basketball in the postseason.

“Jane Rob did it all. It was hard to take her out of the game without it affecting our team,” Pillow assistant coach Mignon Hodges said.

Bolin, who PA head man Wes Prather calls an “absolute joy to coach,” averaged a whopping eight assists per game as the team’s floor general. He also had 14 points, five rebounds and two steals per contest.

Bolin and Pannell have both been voted to play in the MAIS all-star games.

The girls game is set for 3:30 p.m. Friday in Flowood at Jackson Prep, with the boys contest to follow at 5.
