Rain forced the cancellation of Pillow’s road game at Bayou Academy Thursday and the Mustangs have added a home contest against Indianola Academy Friday at 5 p.m.

Pillow is 8-2-1 overall after beating Winona Christian School 5-2 Monday. The Mustangs return on April 11 with a home tilt against Cleveland Central. Head coach Jud Thigpen said he’s trying to add a game for Tuesday or Wednesday of next week.

n Greenwood High: The Bulldogs dropped to 2-7 overall and 0-7 in Region 3-4A play with consecutive 16-1 losses to Yazoo City on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Greenwood went to Yazoo City Wednesday and hosted the Indians Tuesday.

In the game Tuesday, the Bulldogs’ Andrew Strong took the loss on the mound, and Warren Smith had the lone base hit.

Greenwood entertains Humphreys County Monday.

n Carroll Academy: The Rebels were hit with a 12-1 District 1-AA setback Tuesday at Winona Christian School.

The Rebels did not collect a hit and made seven errors in the field. They scored their lone run in the second inning, and Winona plated four runs each in the first, third and fifth innings.

Dane Greenlee went four innings, allowing eight runs on seven hits, walking five and striking out five. Zach Downs worked the fifth inning, giving up four runs on one hit, walking two and fanning one.

Carroll, 4-9 overall and 0-5 in district, is slated to host Winona Christian Friday at 6 p.m.

n J.Z. George: The Jaguars picked up a forfeit win over Holmes County Central Wednesday to improve to 4-12 overall.

J.Z. George, which lost a heartbreaking 10-9 decision in eight innings to Charleston Tuesday, is scheduled to host Ruleville Central in a Region 3-3A doubleheader Friday in North Carrollton starting at 4 p.m. The Jaguars are slated to visit West Bolivar Saturday at 1 p.m., and host Central Holmes Monday at 4 p.m.

n Leflore County: The Tigers have four games remaining on their schedule as the regular season nears an end.

Leflore, 1-13 overall, is scheduled to visit West Bolivar Friday at 4 p.m. The Tigers, 0-8 in Region 2-2A, visit league foe East Webster April 12.

n Amanda Elzy: The Panthers are scheduled to go to Region 3-3A foe Yazoo County Friday.

Elzy, 3-8 overall, is 0-6 in district play after dropping 12-2 and 15-4 decisions at Humphreys County Tuesday.
