MVSU nearly last in football revenue for 2014

Mississippi’s three Southwestern Athletic Conference schools rank near the bottom nationally among all Division I programs for football revenue in 2014.

Citing numbers from USA Today, the Jackson Clarion-Ledger reports MVSU is next-to-last at 229th — just ahead of Coppin State.

Rebs headed West as No. 2 seed

Seconds after ESPN announced the Ole Miss baseball team was headed to play in the Los Angeles Regional, shortstop Errol Robinson got a text message. On the other end was Maryland third baseman Jose Cuas. Robinson, who grew up in Boyds, Maryland, kept the message to himself, but he was visibly excited about competing against at least a dozen players he knows on some level.

Vandy, Florida go for title

Dansby Swanson, Will Toffey and Zander Wiel all homered to help Vanderbilt power its way to a 12-3 victory over Texas A&M Saturday in the semifinals of the Southeastern Conference tournament.
