Graveside services for Robert A. Hurst Jr. will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Valley Hill Methodist Church Cemetery in Carroll County.

Mr. Hurst, 55, died Tuesday, April 2, 2019, at his residence in Batesville.

He was born on April 17, 1963, in Petersburg, Virginia, to Robert A. Hurst Sr. and Frances McGinnis Hurst.

Robert was a U.S. Navy veteran of 23 years and was employed by AT&T. He was of the Baptist faith. His hobby was repairing old trucks, and he was an avid fan of the New Orleans Saints.

Robert lived in Batesville for the past 14 years. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert A. Hurst Sr.

He is survived by his wife, Renee Overstreet Hurst of Batesville; two daughters, Kelli Brown and Shelby Hurst of Batesville; a son, Drew Hurst of Batesville; his mother, Frances M. Cummins of Holcomb; a sister, Elizabeth Grist of Vardaman; a brother, Bobby Hurst of Greenwood; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Williams & Lord Funeral Home in Greenwood. The Rev. Rick Shepherd will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Tyler Brown, Corey Martin, Bill Barry Jr., Zach Boyett, Hayden Ross and Haley Ross. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of AT&T and DirecTV.

Military rites will be performed by American Legion Post 29.
