Services for Shirley Gardner Pullen will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home.

Mrs. Pullen, 83, died Wednesday, April 3, 2019, at Golden Age Nursing Home.

She was born April 2, 1936, in Itta Bena to Thomas Ebit and Sarah Allene Blansett Gardner and lived in the Phillipston community most of her life. She was a member of West President Church of Christ in Greenwood. She never met a stranger and had a very outgoing personality. Mrs. Pullen enjoyed visiting and caring for the sick and elderly. She is preceded in death by her parents and by her husband, Roy Upton Pullen.

She is survived by a son, Ricky (Jan) Pullen of Tchula; a daughter, Tami (Crawford) Logan of Tchula; a sister, Judy Clanton of Jackson; four grandchildren, Roane (Libbi) Logan of Cleveland, Mississippi, Russ (Ashley) Pullen of Madison, Kimberly (Will) Gnemi of Greenwood and Christopher (Lee Lee) Logan of Greenwood; and seven great-grandchildren, Nathan and Thomas Logan, Russell and Elizabeth Pullen, Ann Carol and Mari Wilson Gnemi and Sara Crawford Logan.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home. Doug Segars and Mark Shiers will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Russ Pullen, Roane Logan, Christopher Logan, Windie Reaves, Bill Daves and Teddy Sims. Interment will follow in Itta Bena Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the charity of the donor’s choice.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Kenny Hines and the entire staff at Golden Age Nursing Home for the love and care they have shown over the past four years.
