Services for Destin Ralphael Claiborne, 23, of Itta Bena will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Itta Bena. 

He passed away April 7, 2019, in Itta Bena. Burial will be in Sisters of Charity Cemetery, Elizabeth, under the direction of Bush Funeral Services, Leland.

Destin R. Claiborne was born in Greenwood on Sept. 27, 1995, to Mayle Claiborne and Ralph Miller. 

Destin accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at New Bethel M.B. Church under the leadership of the Rev. Edward Bowen. Destin received his formal education in the Leflore County School District, graduating in 2014. After graduation, he enrolled in Lincoln College of Technology, Nashville, Tennessee, and earned a degree in automotive technology in 2016. Pursing his passion for auto mechanics, he was self-employed.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Miller. 

He leaves to cherish his memory: one daughter, Destiny Belcher of Itta Bena; his mother, Mayle Claiborne of Itta Bena; brothers D’Arrien Claiborne of Itta Bena, Damain and Damon Claiborne of Houston, Texas, and Danell Terry and Derrick Starks II of Itta Bena; a sister, Cherise Miller of Madison; and a host of other relatives.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday at the church, at the corner of Freedom and College Streets, Itta Bena.

The Rev. Edward Bowen will officiate. 

Bush Funeral Services of Leland is in charge of arrangements.
