Wanda Lucille Sproles, 80, of Greenwood died Thursday, April 4, 2019, at her residence. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Wilson and Knight Funeral Home. 

Mrs. Sproles was born Dec. 18, 1938, to Annie Lena Landers and Jimmy Ruben Greene and was a longtime member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She had a heart of gold and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, John Wilson Sproles Jr.; a daughter, Tammy Lucille Sproles; a great-granddaughter, Charli Gardner; three brothers; and one sister.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Johnny Sproles; a daughter, Nila Gardner (Bud) of Greenwood; grandchildren Wilson Gardner (Holley) of Starkville, Matthew Gardner (Mandi) of Water Valley and Kylie Wilkerson (Ben) of Oxford; a brother, Sidney Greene of Nesbit; sisters Paula Williams of Jackson and Marsha Sumpter of Arkansas; and six great- grandchildren. 

Visitation will be from noon until service time on Tuesday. Dennis McKay will officiate the services. 

Pallbearers will be Matthew Gardner, Wilson Gardner, Ben Wilkerson, Gib Sproles, Bob Givens, and Bud Gardner. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Carroll County.
