Helen Keyes Brewer Craig, 90, of Greenwood passed away on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2019. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church in Greenwood, with visitation in the church parlor from 1 p.m. until service time. Dr. Rusty Douglas officiated. 

Helen Keyes was born on March 8, 1928, in Aberdeen to Leone Smith and Dewey Keyes Brewer and was moved to Greenwood when she was 9 months old. She graduated from Greenwood High School, attended Blue Mountain College and later graduated from the University of Alabama, where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority.

She worked as a home economist for Mississippi Power and Light in Jackson and a bookkeeper for Leflore Bank in Greenwood and was a homemaker. She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church, including the Partners in Faith adult Sunday school class and the Wednesday Bible study group. Helen Keyes was also a life member of the Junior Auxiliary, a member of the Greenwood Garden Club, and a past president of the Town and Country Garden Club. She loved gardening, especially her roses.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Raymond Lee Craig Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Catherine Craig Pace and husband Earl of Columbus; grandson Jonathan Craig Pace and wife Jamie of Madison; granddaughter Jennifer Allen Pace of Huntsville, Alabama; great-granddaughter Katie Reeves Pace; sister Leone Brewer Jones and husband Henry of Florence, Alabama; one nephew, and two nieces.

Pallbearers were John Stewart, Lee Pruitt, Bobby Knox, Howard Davis, Miller Arant, Charles Wright and Robert Cole. Interment was in Odd Fellows Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church or The Palmer Home for Children.
