Leflore County School District Board approves school police force

The Leflore County School Board has approved the establishment of a campus police department for the district’s six schools.

The five-member board voted unanimously Monday night to establish the department.

    I'll go back to my earlier position that security and classroom cameras would dramatically enhance the learning process, teacher-student accountability and security,

    Moreover, the capital (one time) costs of $360,000 would be a fraction of maintaining a semi-skilled labor force - and less than 1% of the $25 million annual operating budget depreciated over 5 years - then, essentially, the cameras would cost less than a year's supply of toilet paper.
