Johnson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Money will have its annual black history program. When/where: 2 p.m. at Jonah Chapel M.B. Church at the corner of Johnson and Dewey streets in Greenwood. Details: Participants are invited to dress in old clothing and enjoy an old-fashioned dinner.

Sunday, February 25

Pleasant Plain Missionary Baptist Church will have a 10th-anniversary program for its pastor, the Rev. Phillip Marshall McGee, and his wife. When: 9 a.m. Details: Deacon James Bankhead, a member of Zion Rock M.B. Church in Belzoni, will speak.

New Pillow Chapel Missionary Baptist Church will have a black history program. When: 11 a.m.

Spring Hill Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in Carrollton will celebrate its 42nd Annual Choir Day and Black History Program. When/where: 11 a.m., Carrollton Community House, 305 Lexington St. Dinner will be served immediately after the program.    

Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church will have a sixth-anniversary celebration for its pastor, the Rev. Fredrick Redd. When: The morning worship service will begin at 11:45 a.m.; the anniversary program will begin at 2 p.m. Details: The Rev. Ickret Bennett will speak at the morning service, and Dr. Michael T. Robinson of Jackson will speak at the anniversary program.

Bear Marsh Missionary Baptist Church in Carrollton will observe  its annual Black History and Heritage Celebration. When: 11 a.m. Details: The church pastor, the Rev. Ozell Landfair Jr., will speak.

The theme is “Youths, It’s Time to Obey God,” and the theme verse is Ephesians 6:1-2. Minister Kameron Haymon of Drew will speak March 12, and Tyquasha Craft of Itta Bena will speak March 13.
