Saturday, August 4

Bethel Christian Church in Coila will have a youth jamboree to raise funds for the youth department’s activities. When/where: 9 a.m.-2 p.m. in the church parking lot. Details: The youths will wash cars or pickup trucks for a minimum donation of $5 per vehicle. Hot dogs and drinks will be available. Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Tchula will have its annual Friends and Family Day. Sunday, August 12

Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Carroll County will have homecoming and revival services. When: Aug. 12-15. Details: The Sunday morning service will begin at 11 a.m., followed by dinner on the grounds; Sunday evening   service will begin at 6 p.m.; and weeknight services will be begin at 7 p.m. Services will be brought by Pastor Jim Pender, and the musical service will be led by Benny Rigby.

Travelers’ Rest Missionary Baptist Church will have its annual Men’s Day. When: 11 a.m. Details: The Rev. Kelly Westbrook, pastor of New Direction Church in Minter City, will speak. Community Baptist Church will observe its annual Family and Friends Day. When: 3 p.m. Details: The Rev. New Green Grove Church of Faith will hold its annual women’s conference. Dixon of Greater Union Outreach Ministry in Lexington and Deacon Kevin Jackson of Providence M.B. Church in Greenwood. Deacon Fredrick Hearn of Jones Chapel United Methodist Church in Carrollton will be the guest soloist. The colors will be aqua, turquoise or royal blue, brown and ivory. Dinner will be served immediately afterward.
