Brooklyn Chapel Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate its Youth Emphasis Sunday. When: 11 a.m. Details: The theme is “Keeping Your Faith While Weathering Your Storms.” The speaker will be Calluster Nevels, a member of the church. Youth interested in joining the mass choir are invited to attend rehearsal at 10 a.m. this Saturday. The color are navy, white and yellow.

Holmes Chapel Missionary Baptist Church will have its annual deacon program. When: 2 p.m. Details: Pastor R.C. Chambers of Persimmon Grove M.B. Church will speak.

Second Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, east of Sidon, will have its annual Men and Women’s Day. When: 2:30 p.m. Details: The theme is “What Will You Be Doing When Jesus Comes?” The speakers will be Pastor Iva W. Dixon of Greater Union Outreach Ministry in Lexington and Deacon Kevin Jackson of Providence M.B. Church in Greenwood. Deacon Fredrick Hearn of Jones Chapel United Methodist Church in Carrollton will be the guest soloist. The colors will be aqua, turquoise or royal blue, brown and ivory. Dinner will be served afterward.

Apostle Laverne James and the Kingdom Life Full Deliverance International Training Center will present Kingdom Encounter 2018. When/where: 7 p.m. at the Leflore County Civic Center.
