McKinney Chapel Missionary Baptist Church will have its spring revival. When: 7 p.m. Monday-Thursday. Details: The evangelist will be the Rev. Jessie Payne of Providence M.B. Church.

Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church will have its annual revival. When: 7 p.m. Monday-Thursday. Details: The Rev. James Brooks of Jerusalem Church in Charleston will speak.

Saturday, May 20

Hillview Baptist Church will have its arts and crafts jubilee. When: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Details: Booths are $35 with electrical service and $25 without.

Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church will hold a Women's Empowerment Conference. When: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Details: The theme is  “Women Empowered through Unity, Love and Understanding.”  The conference will include breakout sessions and a panel discussion.

Locus Benedictus Spirituality Center will host a retreat, “Tending the Garden of the Lord.” When: 9 a.m.-4 p.m., closing with a Vigil Mass. Details:  The presenters are the Rev. Theodore Dorcey and Sister Dina Potter.  The cost is $40, which includes lunch.  This retreat includes both prayer and active planting of flowers and plants with biblical references, and an opportunity to understand the significance of taking care of our earthly environment. Samuel Chapel United Methodist Church will hold Spring Fest. When: 11 a.m.

Jones Chapel Missionary Baptist Church No. 2 will hold Youth and Young Adult Day. When: 11 a.m. Details: The theme is “Youth Leading by Example.” The speaker will be  Tylisha Dodd, a senior at Amanda Elzy High School. The colors are red, white and khaki. A mass choir rehearsal will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Mount Olive Baptist Church in Coila will have its annual homecoming. When: 10:30 a.m. Details: Jim Joiner of Jackson, a former interim pastor, will speak. A covered-dish lunch will be held in the fellowship hall afterward.
