Jennings Temple Christian Methodist Episcopal  Church’s Usher Board will sell dinners.  Details: Plates are $7. Each includes green beans with white potatoes, fried or baked chicken, tossed salad, cake, rolls and tea.

Wednesday, November 28

St. Mary’s Missionary Baptist Church will host pre-anniversary and anniversary programs for its pastor, W.M. Evans. When: The pre-anniversary program will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday, and the appreciation prorgram will be at 2 p.m. Dec. 2. Details: The Rev. R.L. Harris, pastor of New Zion Rock in Berclair, will speak Wednesday.

Friday, November 30

The Sanctuary Choir and Orchestra of First Baptist Church Winona will present a singing Christmas tree, under the direction of First Baptist Music Minister Gary Anglin. When: 7 p.m. Nov. 30 and 6 p.m. Dec. 2. Details:  The performance is titled  “Glory to God in the Highest.” This is a   ticketed event, but there is no charge for tickets.  Tickets assure seating.  Contact the church at 662-283-4682 for tickets.

Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church will have a first-year musician’s appreciation program for the Rev. Charles Murff.  When: 2 p.m. Details: Choirs, other groups and soloists are invited.

Carrollton United Methodist Church will present its annual Christmas cantata. When:  5 p.m. This year's presentation is “Take Me Back to Bethlehem,” arranged by Mason Brown and Russell Mauldin and created by Sue C. Smith and Mason Brown.  Following the program, a reception will be held in the fellowship hall.

Providence Missionary Baptist Church will have “A Royal Affair Fashion Show.” When: 5 p.m. Details: Tickets are $5 and may be purchased at the door.

Nehemiah Missionary Baptist Church will have a winter crusade.  When: 7 p.m. Dec. 4-6. Details: The Rev. Mary Clark, pastor of Holmes Chapel M.B. Church in Schlater, will speak.

Sunday, December 9

St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Winona  will have a seventh-anniversary celebration for its pastor, J.C. Stokes, and his wife, Lurean. When: 11 a.m. Details: The Rev. Marlon Stokes from Sierra Vista, Arizona, son of J.C. and Lurean Stokes, will speak.  

The youth of Holly Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Sidon will have their annual Christmas program. When: 11:30 a.m. Details: The theme is “Come and See,” and the Scripture is Matthew 2:2-3.

Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church will have an appreciation program for pianist Clara Lewis and percussionists Sam Woo-den and Alkeddrick Turner. When: 2 p.m.

Providence Missionary Baptist Church will honor musicians Jacquincie Moore, James Redd and Dr. Curressia McFarland-Brown. When: 3 p.m.

The Delta Harrison Singers will present their annual Christmas concert. When/where: 5 p.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church.
