A Carroll County woman died from a car accident Saturday afternoon after being ejected from her vehicle.

Jennifer Hathcock, 49, was driving on County Road 211 off Mississippi 17, south of Carrollton, between 12:30 and 1:30 p.m., according to Carroll County Sheriff Clint Walker.

Hathcock was traveling alone in her pickup truck when she allegedly lost control on a curb and tried to overcorrect, Walker said.

Walker said she was not wearing a seat belt, and when the truck slipped she was ejected.  Hathcock was pronounced dead by Carroll County Coroner Mark Stiles.

The cause of death was unknown Saturday.

The Carroll County Sheriff’s Department and the North Carrollton Fire Department responded to the scene.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family,” Walker said.
