Greenwood police have apprehended a suspect who might have been connected to a shooting last week.
The suspect, a resident of Greenwood, was arrested Saturday morning.
On Friday, along Gibbs Street, a 44-year-old male resident of Greenwood was shot in the shoulder.
That day, around noon, officers closed off a section of Gibbs Street from Cotton Street on the west to Fulton Street on the east to investigate.
Police Chief Ray Moore said the victim, whom he declined to identify, was taken to Greenwood Leflore Hospital to be treated for “non-life-threatening injuries.”
Moore said the case is still under investigation as police try to determine what started the confronta-tion.
He said officers recovered a gun from the scene of the crime that may be linked to the shooting.
Moore said on Monday he did not know whether the victim was still in the hospital.
